b2ap3_thumbnail_MIM.pngAll are invited to attend the Playing for Change Event on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 and will start at 7:00 in the evening at the Musical Instrument Museum located at 4725 E. Mayo Boulevard, Phoenix, Arizona.

This event is a multimedia movement which was created to connect, inspire, and bring peace throughout the world by means of music. It was in 2009 when filmmaker Mark Johnson brought together more than 100 musicians coming from all parts of the globe with the aim of uniting street and local musicians.

Current members of the Playing for Change’s are musicians from Japan, United States, Italy, the Netherlands, Cuba, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Israel. Other artists that this organization have collaborated with include Jackson Browne, Toots and the Maytals, Tinariwen, Ziggy Marley, BabaaMaal, and Jimmy Buffett to name a few.

Admission fees are from $37.50 to $47.50.

The event will be from 6:00 to 7:00 in the evening at the Arabian Meeting Room 1 located at 10215 E. McDowell Mt. Ranch Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Guests will get to learn what OCD is all about, what its symptoms are, how to recognize it, where to get help for it, and how it is treated.

It is said that 1 in 100 or about 2 to 3 million adults in the USA and 1 in 200 to 500,000 kids and teens are suffering from OCD. The good news is that those afflicted with it can certainly beat it. Family members can likewise help their loved ones combat this treatable disorder.

The camp is from 8:30 in the morning until 12:00 noon at the Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park located at 4619 E. Washington Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

Get to experience and explore the world of archaeology by taking part in a simulated excavation of a Hokoham pit house. Participants will get to learn how to identify artifacts in the field and find out how archaeologists use these objects to learn about past cultures. Go ahead and go into the research labs and collections storage of the museum.

Admission is $100 for the week. Be sure to grab this opportunity and let the children unleash the explorer within.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Arizona-Food-Banks.pngEveryone is encouraged to be part of Scottsdale’s 39th Annual Mighty Mud Mania happening on Saturday, June 7, 2014.This fun event will be from 7:30 in the morning until 1:00 in the afternoon at the Chaparral Park at 5401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.

This is an activity that the whole family will surely enjoy. With the many muddy obstacles prepared, people of all ages and ability levels will easily get to participate. There are also non-muddy activities in store for everyone. Wash stations and restrooms in the park area are also available for everybody’s use.

Participating families are requested to bring a non-perishable food item which will be forwarded to the Vista Del Camino Food Bank.

Admission fee for adults is $10 while children ages 13 to 17 years old will be admitted for free.

Proceeds will be used to support Scottsdale’s youth programs.
