b2ap3_thumbnail_Scottsdale-Public-Library.pngThe Contemporary Literature Book Discussion Group has scheduled a book review and discussion on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30PM at the Civic Center Gold Room. Similar gatherings happen every 2nd Wednesday of the month.

For January, the book in focus is “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Coast,” a much-loved adventure novel based on the real experiences of Cheryl Strayed.

Activities such as this are initiated by the Friends of Scottsdale Library. This group supports lifelong learning through the implementation of different programs.

The following are the Friends of Scottsdale Library’s existing programs to date:

*The Summer Reading Program

*The Second Grade Reading Program

*Knowasis: The Thunderbirds Charities Teen Learning Center

*ReVentures

*The Spirit of Literacy Awards

Today, library systems do more than just offer a venue to borrow books and films. Contemporary libraries now provide innovative methods for teaching and research and allow unlimited access to its learning and reference materials.

The Fair is under the direction and supervision of Nick Molinari. The entertainment for the event will be provided by the Roving Performers, a local group.
